Returns & Exchange Policy

At Sideline, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not happy with your order, we’re here to help.


Returns Period

You have 14 days from the date of delivery to return items for a refund or exchange. Items must be in their original condition, unused, with all tags attached, and in the original packaging.


Eligible Items for Return

We accept returns on:

  • Unopened and unused sports equipment
  • Products with original packaging and tags intact
  • Items that are not personalised or custom-made
  • Goods that are not damaged due to misuse

Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on:

  • Goalkeeper gloves that have been worn or used
  • Items with removed tags or packaging
  • Personalised or customised equipment
  • Sale or clearance items (unless faulty)
  • Protective gear that has been used (shin guards, headgear)

How to Return an Item

Step 1: Contact Us Email orders@sideline.training within 14 days of receiving your order. Please include:

  • Your order number
  • Item(s) you wish to return
  • Reason for return
  • Whether you want a refund or exchange

Step 2: Return Authorisation We’ll send you a Return Authorisation Number (RAN) and return instructions. Do not send items back without a RAN.

Step 3: Package Your Return

  • Pack items securely in original packaging where possible
  • Include a copy of your invoice/receipt
  • Write your RAN clearly on the package

Return Shipping Costs

Customer Responsibility:

  • You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong product.
  • We recommend using a tracked shipping service as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.

Our Responsibility:

  • If we sent the wrong item or your product is faulty, we’ll cover return shipping costs.
  • We’ll provide a prepaid shipping label for faulty goods.

Refunds

Processing Time:

  • Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days of receiving your returned item.
  • It may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank.

Refund Method:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
  • If you paid by EFT, please provide your banking details.

Partial Refunds: Items returned in used condition, with missing tags, or not in original packaging may receive a partial refund at our discretion.


Exchanges

Same Item Exchange: If you need a different size or colour of the same product, contact us and we’ll arrange an exchange at no additional cost (subject to stock availability).

Different Item Exchange: If you want to exchange for a different product:

  • Return the original item following the returns process
  • Place a new order for the item you want
  • If there’s a price difference, we’ll arrange payment or refund

Faulty or Damaged Items

If you receive a faulty or damaged item:

Within 7 Days of Delivery:

  • Contact us immediately at orders@sideline.training
  • Provide photos of the damage/fault
  • We’ll arrange collection at no cost to you
  • Choose a replacement or full refund

After 7 Days (Manufacturer Defects):

  • Items with manufacturing defects may still be eligible for return
  • Contact us with details of the fault
  • We may require photos or the item to be assessed
  • Warranty terms may apply depending on the brand

Wrong Item Sent

If we sent you the wrong item:

  • Contact us within 7 days at orders@sideline.training
  • We’ll arrange collection of the incorrect item at no cost
  • Send you the correct item immediately
  • No return shipping fees apply

Bulk or Trade Orders

Returns on bulk orders (10+ units) or trade accounts are subject to different terms. Please contact us directly to discuss bulk order returns.


Consumer Protection Act

This returns policy is in addition to your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
